If you feel there has been a violation of real estate law we advise you to contact the Delaware Real Estate Commission and/or a Delaware attorney that specializes in real estate. Please be advised that if you do file with either the Delaware Real Estate Commission or the Delaware court that doesn’t preclude you from filing anything here at the Board office; however, your case here at SCAOR will be held in abeyance until a ruling has been made by either the Commission or the court.
SCAOR has a couple different avenues available:
- Our Ombudsman program: The Ombudsman program is an informal telephone mediation. In some cases it can address and solve minor complaints. Similar to a mediator, an ombudsman assists both parties find solutions. Please be advised that if you are not satisfied or if you are unable to come to a resolution then you may proceed with an Ethics Complaint; however, the Ombudsman nor any actions taken during the Ombudsman process may not be used in the Ethics complaint.
