Tech Tip Tuesday – Top 5 Things You Need to Know About the REALTOR® Trademarks
How much do you know about the REALTOR® trademarks and how to use them correctly?
Here are five key facts.
1. REALTOR® = Member of NAR
A REALTOR® is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®. The term REALTOR® should never be used as a substitute for “real estate agent.”
The REALTOR® trademarks include:
REALTOR®
REALTORS®
REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®
the REALTOR® block “R” logo
The REALTOR® marks let people know that you are more than just a real estate practitioner: you adhere to a strict Code of Ethics that protects clients, the public, and other real estate agents.
The term REALTOR® is not only a trademark owned by NAR and protected by federal law, it’s a valuable membership benefit that distinguishes members from other real estate licensees.
2. Members can use the REALTOR® trademarks, with limitations
Members may use the REALTOR® marks only in the context of identifying themselves as members of NAR. To maintain the value of the marks, it’s important that they be recognized by the public as identifiers of NAR members, and never used generically to denote a vocation or a business.
Members are licensed to use the marks only in connection with their real estate business and in connection with the place of business with which their membership is associated.

Welcome back to Tech Tip Tuesday!
This week, we wanted to give you a “behind the scenes” look at our membership and on-boarding process. Here’s what happens when someone decides to become a SCAOR member.
01 – The future SCAOR member completes their real estate pre-licensing classes (not offered at SCAOR), and passes their exam.
02 – The agent then selects a broker to become affiliated with.
03 – The agent goes to SCAOR.com’s membership page, and downloads the membership packet that corresponds with their membership type (Primary, Secondary, or MLS Only).
04 – The agent would then fill out & send in all paperwork and membership payment. (You may email paperwork to mary@scaor.com, fax it to us at 302-855-2319, or physically bring it in.
05 – The agent would wait 3-5 Business days for processing at SCAOR.
06 – After receiving a “welcome” email, the member would then come in to retrieve their SentriLock Card (if applicable) and attend the appropriate New Member Orientation (if applicable).

Tech Tip Tuesday – #078 – Getting FREE Feedback from People Using Google Forms
Today’s Tip:
Today’s Tech Tip Tuesday, we’ll be talking about how to collect feedback from your clients using Google Forms for free. Click here to try it out!
When you’re working with a large list of people, and want to get their feedback on something…It’s sometimes useful to create an online form for them to share their thoughts. That way, you can get a feel for the collective opinions of others without talking to each of them. You can also use Google Forms to register people for events.
So, let’s make a form and get a better idea of how this works! First, if you don’t already have a Google account, you’ll need to sign up for one. The process is super-easy. Then, you head to forms.google.com, and click on the plus sign.
There’s a few things to notice on this new page. First, the two tabs at the top called Questions (the side your viewers will see) and Responses (only you and other people who have been specified can see).
So lets say we want some feedback from people. We’ll set up the name. Add an email so we can write them back if we need to. And a few questions.
Each of these questions can be set up with the question type that suits you best.

Tech Tip Tuesday #069 – Social Media Automation
One of the most difficult things about marketing yourself is – there’s only one of you! Whenever you have the opportunity to automate, you can double your efforts and increase your brand’s awareness – all without increasing time.
Today, we wanted to give you a peak behind the curtain for how we automate some of our processes in hopes that you can use these concepts for your business. We’ll be talking about automating the marketing of your brand through CoSchedule (A paid tool).
CoSchedule is just one tool to do this sort of thing, there’s hootsuite and socialoomph, and a host of others. Pretend you have a link that you want to share with the world. It could be about your business, some new listings – or in our case, we want to schedule the Throwback Thursday photo for this week.
So, What Does it Do?
With CoSchedule’s, you now have your Facebook and Twitter accounts linked so that it will notify your friends and followers whenever you choose. For instance, you can share the post now, and release it again on your social media accounts 7 days later.
Now you don’t have to think about jumping on to Facebook or twitter every time you want to share your post or content you love. You can write a week’s worth of posts or links, time release them, and have the automation expand your presence online. That’s social media automation, and that’s today’s Tech Tip Tuesday.
