SCAOR Card – Issue #008 – From the CEO’s Desk

Welcome to the monthly SCAORcard summarizing Association news and updates.  

 

First, I would like to remind Brokers that the Sentrilock Lockbox Exchange is scheduled for July 24-28 at SCAOR.   For those who still do not know, the BOD approved the replacement of approximately 4,200 lockboxes this summer.  

 

Per the 2015-2018 Strategic Plan, implementing the best technology is a goal we are always working towards.  SCAOR will have additional information in the next SCAORcard on training workshops.  Second, if you have visited SCAOR lately, you will have noticed new paint, repaired tiles and new lighting within the facility.  Your BOD also approved new crush-n-run for the rear parking lot and the installation of new outside lighting to improve safety when attending evening events.  It is incumbent of the BOD to reinvest in the facility and make it a high quality experience for you to participate in education classes and attend committee meetings.  

 

Lastly, I would like to invite members to the NAR mid-year meetings in Washington D.C. from May 15-20.  This is your chance to advocate at the federal level for programs and policies that directly impact your business.  Important issues that will be discussed in two weeks include tax reform, mortgage interest deduction, rent control and flood insurance.  For those only interested in the trade show, it is scheduled for May 17 and 18.  I hope to see you there supporting NAR, DAR and SCAOR.
